I am a speech-language pathologist whose work experience in this industry spans over thirty years in a variety of settings and ages from infants through geriatrics. I currently work with young children, under one to five years of age. I provide therapy to school aged children as well and am a participating provider with United Healthcare Choice Plus and Oxford Freedom Plans. I accept private patients too.
In addition to my clinical and evaluation work, I am a Clinical Adjunct at Lehman College. I am training graduate students in the area of diagnostics and clinical treatment of both children and adults. As a result, I develop seminars on topics connected with the skills necessary to do so and connected with developmental milestones to both assess and treat. I would be happy to plan one for those patients within your practice.
An interest that has emerged from my training as an embedded coaching mentor through the early intervention program has been to work with parents, extended families and in settings both in and outside of the home so that I better understand how the child functions in a variety of settings. So often families don’t learn the concepts (regardless of age) so that they can help children outside of therapy programming and I try to empower them with that knowledge. I would be happy to run a training seminar for your patients.
Specialized training and clinical interests include that of working with children on the autism spectrum, those with feeding difficulties, poor oral motor function, those with neurological deficits that impact on function as well as those with complex medical problems.. I have PROMPT training and use the concepts therein to teach children motor placement for speech sound production. With those on the autism spectrum I find the concepts of sensory integration to be essential for work with families. These are skills that parents often seek and I am happy to assist your patients in this regard.
Feel free to contact me and refer patients to me if you think that I can be of assistance to families within their homes or outside. Thank you!
